Our print design is published under the sub brand Siula Grande Design. My first ever CD packaging – then a shy first trial and debut break out of the comfort of website design – was not supposed to be a nadworks product. Siula Grande is the mountain in Peru whose summit was first reached via the western face route by British climbers Joe Simpson and Simon Yates in the mid eighties before an unimaginably moving drama unfolded, as described in the book and film “Touching the Void”. A story of high significance to me at the time, and still today.
Print design still doesn’t ring natural with me, due to the finality of its artwork. But the satisfaction of holding a printed piece in my hands that has previously only been seen on screen – something material out of a digital creation – is priceless.
